Who are the Major Bus Providers in the USA & How They

One of the greatest American icons is Greyhound. However, particularly in rural areas and in the heart of the United States, travelers will encounter other bus providers. Companies can differentiate mainly according to the areas they serve, their target clientele and their prices.

BoltBus is Greyhound’s city-to-City Express service, which competes with Megabus for major cities on the east coast of the United States. That means it’s possible to book trips for as little as $ 1 with both companies. In the Northeast, Peter Pan Bus Lines, who recently split from his partner, Greyhound, dominates the landscape. Trailways and Jefferson Lines are the bus companies that can be found primarily in the heart of the US. Companies accept each other’s tickets and often align their schedules, so it is possible to smoothly switch from a Greyhound to a Trailways bus. Florida even has a premium bus provider, RedCoach, which offers rides in three different classes.
